Hardship Assistance

Who qualifies for hardship support?

Our program mentors youth and young adults (12-25 years old). Parents/guardians applying for their youth within this age range, and young adults between 18 and 25, applying for themselves, qualify to apply.

How long does the process take?

The timeline for the process varies depending on the applicant. Once the application is received, an interview will be scheduled and conducted before a decision is made.

What documents are required?

Necessary documents will depend on the applicant’s request. Applicants will be notified during the interview process.

How often can I apply?

Applicants can apply once a year. (Applications are accepted based on the availability of funds.)

Scholarship Program

Who can apply for the ABU Scholarship?

Our program mentors youth and young adults (12-25 years old). Parents/guardians applying for their youth who are seeking higher education within this age range, and young adults between 18-25 seeking higher education and applying for themselves, qualify to apply.

Applicants can apply once a year at any time throughout the year

How many scholarships are awarded each year?

What criteria do you use to make selections?

The criteria are based on the applicant's essay/application and the interview process.

Donations

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity organization.

How do I get a tax receipt?

Tax receipts can be hand-delivered if the donor is local or emailed upon request.

What percentage of donations go to programs?

100% of donations go to the organization and are distributed among programs, events, financial assistance, and food and clothing provided to those in need.
